My story

JG Rawk is a solo artist name Jeramie Greaves, (an American Canadian from Ottawa, Ontario.) He writes 80’s & 90’s indie/Alternative rock with faith based themes and grit.

At the age of 18 in Le-mars Iowa U.S.A. He picked up a guitar, wrote a song, and played it one summer weekend at a friends house. His friends were amazed, not knowing he wrote it. The guitar skill did not matter, but the song did.

It came from deep feelings of anxiety, and low self-image, knowing his Christian faith was all he had to hang onto. Alternative rock fit well with this feeling. It was popular at the time. His friends started a cover band with Jeramie as their lead singer. They covered bands like Nirvana, Metallica, and Green Day.

The band broke up during the college years and reformed with a new singer. The style was good, but the lyrics were far from from the Christian faith. This led to invitation’s to various Church Worship Band’s, (Lead guitar, acoustic, bass.) Learning control, and leading a Congregation, once again in front singing. Jeramie currently plays on 2 different teams at East Gate Alliance in Ottawa, Ontario. (A chruch that Prime Minister Stephen Harper attended while in office.)

After leaving his friends rock band and missing the feedback and distortion it was time to write again.
Between 2000-2004 4 Self-Produced Albums were recorded. You can hear all those tracks on “The Early Years” and “The Early Years B-Sides.” “Colorful Being” written in 2000 was placed on a Spotify playlist in the Philippines placing it as the most played song to date.

From 2020-present WildBill Studios and a Professor of Poetry have captured the vision and enhanced the JGR music you hear today. Some fans say Jeramie sound like Michael Sweet from the band Stryper.
